Betty the Blimpwright is a tribute to women of industry - past, present, and still showing up every day. While inspired by the women who worked in and around hangars like Hangar B, this design isn’t limited to a single era. It’s a nod to the long lineage of women who build, repair, maintain, operate, and keep complex systems running - whether that’s aircraft, ships, machines, infrastructure, or entire industries. This piece is our Tillamook Air Museum - inspired take on the spirit behind the iconic Rosie the Riveter - updated for a more modern world. Where Rosie symbolized a moment in history, Betty the Blimpwright represents something ongoing: skilled labor, resilience, and the pride of doing real work, across generations. She stands for: • Women who worked in hangars and shipyards • Women on factory floors, job sites, and workshops • Women in technical trades, aviation, and maintenance
